Nabari no Ou – 17 & 18

August 10, 2008 at 12:22 am (Currently Watching, Nabari no Ou)

Wow, it’s been so long (at least it feels like it has been) since I last saw this and I have to say I really missed it: missed the characters, missed the OP and ED (both the new and the old), and it’s great to finally get to watch some anime after a week or so. I know a week isn’t all that long at all but it’s big for me, okay? =P

Something else that sparked this post is something that I’ve been wanting to say: WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOOK AT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOITE AND MIHARU AND GO ‘OMGZZZ ITZ YAOIIIIII’???

Seriously, in this world right now, obviously two people of the same gender can’t be good friends without having a bunch of people (or more) suspect them of other feelings. OBVIOUSLY. I mean come on, Miharu wants to save Yoite and that’s because he loves him. Well yeah of course, both Miharu and Yoite have been living their lives (I forget how old they are though) almost by themselves and suddenly they find in each other someone who can understand how they feel. Of course they’d stick to each other like glue. That’s happened to me before. Back when I was in high school, I was almost desperate for someone to understand what it was like for me at home and in my second year, I found someone and I almost became so attached to her that I was pretty upset (okay, I still am a little) when she decided to just up and ignore me one day. IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE. Tight friendship is important, people and that’s what Miharu and Yoite are getting at, not some yaoi business. I’m kind of sick of hearing that.

I’m also kind of sick of hearing OMG IT’S A RIPOFF OF NARUTO but you know, that’s old now. What am I gonna do about it? Do you know, I saw somewhere (probably in one of the threads on MAL) two short clips with fight scenes from Cowboy Bebop and Naruto with the exact techniques and sequences displayed and someone quoted it and went ‘wow, they copied off Naruto >.>’ and I’m like ‘you’re a moron, NARUTO copied off Cowboy Bebop.’ But anyway, that’s just a personal annoyance.

Anyway, it’s been such a long time since I really watched Nabari no Ou that I kind of forgot what happened D: I have a feeling I may have to rewatch this later on just like I have to rewatch Amatsuki to really understand what happened.

I really have to sympathize with Yoite’s belief that he feels like a make-believe character in the world because, well, let’s just say that sometimes I feel that way during summers at my house. The end. It was nice being able to catch up =)

I both agree and disagree with your first point…It’s not Yaoi, but it isn’t the slightest bit of a stretch to suspect they have “other feelings”.

I am also sick of the Naruto comparisons, but I have given up on complaining about them because to many silly american teenagers think everything that has to do with Ninja’s is apeing Naruto….(sigh)

Miharu’s 14 and Yoite’s 16. Miharu lost his memories and parents when he was 4 and Yoite was almost killed when he was a kid. Yeaaaah, because they’re really normal teenagers. The same thing happened to me a lot in life – I guess clinging to someone who makes you feel comfortable around them and then losing them has to be one of the worst feelings in the world. I guess that’s why I love these two so much. I -do- slash them, but that doesn’t keep me from enjoying their relationship from what it is. And from wishing them a happy ending.
